Hello, I’ve been married for two years and been trying to conceive since then. All reports are fine (done 6 months ago) except progesterone level is low so doctor prescribed to take folic acid. Now after two ultrasounds in three months span, two intramural fibroids are present. Doctor told me that fibroids should not increase. Can you tell me 1. what are the reasons of fibroids, 2. how to reduce/remove them and also 3. are they dangerous?
What is the size of fibroids and their location ? Low progesterone levels at 21 day of ur periods show that u r not ovulating , and it needs treatment , please consult gynaecologist for that , Don’t worry about fibroids , there is no reason or cause for them developing but quite common , every 5 women , one will have fibroids , u cannot reduce their size because the drugs u will use for reduction will interfere with getting pregnant , u can easily conceive even with fibroids

-Dear it would be better if u would send me progesterone level done recently and scan reported intramural Fibroids.
-size and location of Fibroids Matters actually.
-if fibroid too big symmptomatic causing pressure pain or discomfort, Causing Anaemia due to heavy bleeding then can have generalized effect on body.
-if progesterone on day 21 is low then chances of ovulation reduces and can affect fertility.
-have balanced diet, weight and Bmi and have sex in fertile periods of cycle.
-serum progesterone and scan report need to be discussed in detail with detailed history, Examination, u can send Labs report and detailed history here but examination Need to be done by Gynae specialist.
-Drug's used to reduce fibroid size affect fertility. Larger Fibroids can be removed surgically if needed.
-with Fibroids pregnancy occurs and during pregnancy degeneration happens.

important is what is the location and size of the fibroids.they can be present even without having any symptoms.further treatment of fibroids will depend upon the symptoms .for pregnancy or conception detailed evaluation of both partners is required .its good you are taking folic acid and your labs are normal but better to consult the gynecologist with all your labs .depending on labs further treatment can be advised
Fibroid is slow growing tumour. It is the commonest tumour of females. No specific reason of its development but runs in family in few cases. Surgery is needed if large size and they are not dangerous in terms of cancer development.

I want to ask that the progesterone low level issue can be solved via tablets?
This doesn’t mean infertility??
