Talk to Gynecologist on Period

Hey, I am married last june, my period is 5 date late. Due date is 19 but it doesn't start on the date. It starts today I guess, first light spotting occur than dark color blood appear. And I am havibg so much pain in my lower abdomen right now. Can you please tell me why my period is late and why i am having unbearable pain.
