Asking for Self, Female, 32 years old, karachi
if placenta completey cover utrus at 33 week , its my first pregnancy, what complication and risk does happen in pregnancy ?
at 33 weeks if its fully covering os then u will need to go for c sec. also keep vigilance about bleeding and avoid intercourse.
Aoa if placenta is covering the os (oppening of the womb) at this gestation then this is unlikely to migrate. This is high risk pregnancy. Placenta praevia happens when your placenta (afterbirth) attaches in the lower part of your uterus (womb), sometimes completely covering the cervix (neck of the womb).
This can cause heavy bleeding during pregnancy or at the time of birth.
If you have placenta praevia, your baby will probably need to be born by caesarean. ( rcog)Thanks
It happens due to prior history of uterine instrumentation or a previous C section.
The complications are need for C section, hemorrhage and hysterectomy
