Dear Patient/Attendant ! please visit the NEPHROLOGIST for proper treatment.
Well, in my opinion diabetes. Control in very important. Because uncontrolled diabetes can cause kidney damage. Urea and creatinine are initially normal. When kidney disease crosses stage 3 then urea and creatinine begin to rise. So plz dont wait for urea or creatinine to rise. Consult diabetes specialist before its too late
Would suggest you to book an appointment for proper communication and than i would be able to answer some right Diagnose.
Regards
Dr Ali Hanif
Better is to control her diabetes as early as possible because it cause kidney disease.
Her kidney function should be reviewed and medications altered and prescribed accordingly

Hi,
This is Dr. Maheen, first of all can u tell me what's her hba1c level at the moment and is she compliant on medication for diabetes?
This gfr is not normal, creatinine and bun are not raised significantly but it is a sign that kidney is being affected by diabetes.
I recommend you to maintain normal sugar level by diet control and medicine. If condition persist despite of being compliant on medicine then you should visit the nearest diabetic clinic for dose adjustment.
AOA FIRST OF ALL YOU NEED TO GET PT'S FBS ,HBAIC ,AND urine for micro albumin then along with name of anti diabetic medicines , then take my appointment with Lab results thanks
thanks if u have any or other problem so you can book my consultation
thanks again

Hello, first of all please do not worry. And EGFR of 49 means that she has mild renal disease which is very common in diabetic patients. This damage could also been aggravated by the surgery and the pain killers she was taking. There is no medication for reversal of this. However it improve a little by increasing her water intake, keeping her diabetes in check and also her blood pressure. Her medicines need to be adjusted according to those that are given in mild renal disease. Unfortunately, my clinic is closed down due to lockdown. But u can book me for an online consult. This situation requires tight sugar monitoring, tight blood pressure monitoring, adjustment of medications that are safe to give in renal disease and finally improve her water intake. Hope I was helpful. Warm regards.
Please do not panic.these labs indicate jst a mild renal disease.she needs a better diabetic control nd blood pressure control.it cn b reversed at this stage too.Which medicines is she taking currently for this?
u need detail evaluation.. book an appointment for further management and work up
Nothing to worry about. these reports can be regarded as normal for the age. Good sugar control. Good water intake. avoid Painkillers. If needed try local pain killers or simple paracetamol.
No seperate medicine is needed at this stage just keep blood sugar and blood pressure Ideally controlled and reduce meat intake.

Thanks for sharing ur concern. Drop in GFR from 60 -49 is significant and shouldn’t be ignored. Have u done UACR for her recently? Which pain killers is she taking ? And is she taking any protective medication for the kidneys ?
