Talk to Psychologist on Depression From Deprivation

Asking for Self, Male, 33 years old, Johar town

i have been a pessimistic man in my life but that always gave me some margin to stay away from bigger problems. But now deaths (my mother and wife) leaving behind a 1.5 years old baby drowned me into ocean of sadness. I cannot think straight for a while and I cannot think positive for a day and I cannot be a happy for more than few seconds. Please reply who should I consult and this problem is aggregating and would like to discuss details with consultant only. I am just 33

Very sad to hear about the loss of two significant people in your life. What you are going through is grief. Add this huge emotional stress to the newfound sole responsibility of an infant, you are looking at some very hard and sad times ahead.

Time heals, but that may take a while.

Losing a spouse and a parent is extremely painful. People fear the day they hear such news and you are facing it and living it. Its a tremendous loss. But for the sake of your baby, you may have to consider something positive.

Reaching out on a forum is just accepting that you need help. Its one of the essential steps in recognising you are in need of outside assistance and can no longer handle/manage the issue.

Your issue is grief for now.

Speaking to a psychologist will help you grieve the loss properly and may even show you how important your health is - which is just as important (your outlook on life and its disappointments) and in due time, it will change and you you'll be surprised because you will change it yourself.

This difficult, horrible time, will pass. Be patient, and cry. Don't stop yourself from it. But don't dwell on it either.

The moments and memories our loved ones create and share with us, stay with us, always. Its what makes us human, its what makes us alive, and it everything that makes us move forward.

Thanks for everyone giving me. Counselling. On the other hand i am too much afraid... People would call me psycho n insane when i start some treatment or sessions from any psychology specialist..... I cannot focus any thing. Next second these thoughts diminish

Do not be afraid of what people have to say.

If you have a severe headache, you are going to take some pain medication. If someone breaks a leg, they will get the fracture set.

If your mind is in pain and distress, you are just going to its specialist. The pain of mind directly effects our emotions, and this influences are habits, which makes us yell, or sleep more, or eat less or we go further fall into a whirlpool of confusion and anxiety.

I went to an ENT for a severe throat infection. Paid 1500 for an 8-minute checkup. Next week, went back to the same ENT; paid the same amount and he saw me for 3 minutes this time because medication was working. I will be visiting him twice more, for same amount and lesser follow-up time. But its all worth it, why? Because i can finally sleep better, I can eat normal food, I dont have fever and nor do I have any ear pain. The visits, the investments of money for checkup and medication... its all worth it. Because I am better.

I wish the same for you.

Don't think too much about what others will say. You only have authority over yourself and your baby. I wish you peace.

I am starting to think as you are saying in so much detail. Undoubtedly this is much to me and this noble act of urs will have regards near Almighty.... Thanks and i will consult some one soon

It no problem at all - in such difficult and testing time when dear ones have gone from your life, its my humble opinion that there is only one place where you will find some solace. Its the direction of Allah.

The emptiness you feel, the complete disregard of this world and the hollow emotions, only He can fill with peace.

Its odd, but its take a very serious shake for us to realise that God is the only source of expectation.

I sincerely hope you will feel better soon. Give it time and be patient.
