    History Of COVID-19 Vaccine Development:

    In June 2020, China approved the CanSino vaccine for limited use in military and high-risk professionals. In August 2020, Russia announced the approval of the Sputnik V vaccine for emergency use.

    Then, in December 2020, the United Kingdom approved the vaccine produced by Pfizer-BioNTech, the first vaccine approved in the western world for humans. After that, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates granted emergency marketing authorization for a vaccine developed by Sinopharm.

    On 11th December 2020, the FDA granted a EUA (Emergency Use Authorization) for the Pfizer–BioNTech COVID‑19 vaccine. A week later, they granted a EUA for the Moderna vaccine.

    COVID-19 Vaccines Available In Pakistan:

    Almost all the vaccines developed in the world have reached Pakistan. The most common vaccine that the government have imported from China is the Sinopharm vaccine. Other vaccines available in Pakistan are;

    • SinoVac vaccine
    • CanSino vaccine
    • AstraZeneca vaccine
    • Moderna vaccine
    • Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine
    • Sputnik V vaccine

    These are the COVID-19 vaccine names available in Pakistan.

    COVID-19 Vaccination Registration In Pakistan:

    The process of registration for COVID-19 vaccination in Pakistan is very simple. Here is the answer to how to register for the COVID vaccine in Pakistan.

    You can register yourself for the 1st dose of the COVID-19 vaccine by two methods;

    • All 18+ Citizens – Register themselves by sending their CNIC no. to 1166 (free SMS) from any mobile number
    • OR visit nims.nadra.gov.pk for registration and just walk into the nearest center for vaccination.

    2nd Dose – Message to Citizens will be sent automatically 48/24 hours before the due date from 1166.

    These are the two methods for NADRA COVID-19 vaccine registration.

    COVID-19 Vaccine Statistics In Pakistan:

    According to Our World in Data, the number of doses given to Pakistani citizens are 35.3M, of which 4.55M are fully vaccinated.

    The percentage of fully vaccinated citizens in Pakistan is 2.1% and partly vaccinated is 8.2%. Hence, the total percentage of citizens that are being administered with the COVID-19 vaccine is 10.29%. (Dated: 6-8-2021).

    COVID-19 Vaccine Side Effects:

    There are no severe side effects of the COVID-19 vaccine reported to date. Minor side effects have been reported, such as headaches, body aches, low-grade fever, muscle pain, fatigue, diarrhoea, pain at the injection site, and chills.

    COVID-19 Vaccine Certificate:

    After the administration of both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, you are fully vaccinated. And the proof of being fully vaccinated is the COVID-19 vaccine certificate that the NADRA issues. You can visit the nearest NADRA office for the certificate or download it through the NADRA website.

    Almost 90% of the population in Pakistan is still unvaccinated. This is an alarming situation. The new Delta variant of coronavirus is more dangerous than its previous types.

    Now you know how to register for the COVID vaccine in Pakistan, then hurry up! and register yourself for getting the COVID vaccine.

    Delta Variant VS COVID-19 Vaccines:

    If you are fully vaccinated, the chances are that you can get the COVID-19 infection with no to mild symptoms. The vaccinated people can also be the carrier of the virus and spread it among other people.

    It is necessary to follow the SOPs even after vaccination. You should wear masks, keep social distancing, wash hands regularly, and avoid unnecessary interaction with others.

    If I Can Get the Virus Even After Being Fully Vaccinated, What Is The Benefit Of The Vaccine?

    The virus is continuously mutating; that’s why no pharmaceutical company can 100% assure you that their vaccine can fully protect you from coronavirus. But the benefit of being vaccinated is that your symptoms will be mild if you get the infection after vaccination.

    If you have symptoms of COVID-19 infections, you can consult the best health specialists of Pakistan through Marham.pk by dialling the Marham helpline: 0311-1222398. Book an appointment now, to answer all your queries.
