This is another laser eye technique that makes the use of lasers to eradicate the external covering of the cornea and to reshape it. This refractive procedure removes little quantities of tissue from the external surface of the cornea and thus slightly alters the cornea shape. Recovery through this process takes longer as compared to that through LASIK.

LASEK (laser epithelial keratomileusis):
This surgery is created by a combination of LASIK and PRK surgery techniques recommended for those not allowed to have LASIK. An alcohol solution is used to loosen the covering over the cornea to move it aside. Then the cornea is reshaped using a laser.
LTK (laser thermal keratoplasty):
It is a laser eye procedure especially to correct farsightedness and astigmatism. The cornea is reshaped using heat in this technique. One benefit of LTK is that it’s a “no touch” process meaning, chances of infections and losses of vision are diminished.
